About
Snowy Hydro wants to hear about concerns of misconduct
Snowy Hydro has a culture of ethical conduct. Our values of safety, decency, ownership, agility, courage and teamwork encourage employees to act in the best interests of each other, customers and Snowy Hydro. We encourage people to speak up when those values may be compromised. This whistleblower policy and framework enables such behaviour to be reported through a fair and objective process, without fear of repercussions.
What is a Disclosable Matter?
There are no limitations on the subjects that can be reported through the whistleblower service, especially if all other options have been explored. Nonetheless, it’s crucial to understand that whistleblower safeguards are only applicable when the person making the report has valid reasons to suspect potential wrongdoing or an inappropriate situation or conditions related to a Disclosable Matter.
The scope of Disclosable Matters is intentionally broad, such that there is no exhaustive list of topics. However, the following list of examples has been provided as an indication of what might be included.
- illegal conduct, such as theft, dealing in, or use of illicit drugs, violence or threatened violence, and criminal damage against property;
- fraud, money laundering or misappropriation of funds;
- offering or accepting a bribe;
- financial and/or tax irregularities;
- failure to comply with, or breach of, legal or regulatory requirements;
- danger to health and safety;
- danger to the environment;
- modern slavery;
- engaging in or threatening to engage in detrimental conduct against a person who has made a disclosure or is believed or suspected to have made, or is planning to make, a disclosure.
See the Whistleblower Policy on this website or on your intranet (“The Grid” or “Campfire”) for more information.
